Adrian is a progressive leader who understands the importance of cultivating the right conditions for students to develop the attitudes, morals, ethics, dispositions and skills needed for a life of learning.

As a lifelong learner and current PhD candidate, Adrian’s expertise in innovation and technology has led to an informed understanding that digital transformation in education is inevitable. ‘Focusing on what makes us human, however, is always more important than focusing on the technology’, he believes.

From his early teaching years in country Victoria, the achievement of several excellence and scholarship awards, Adrian progressed to the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and the establishment of a Centre for Excellence and Innovation in Science, Technology and Mathematics. His roles as Director of Teaching and Learning at Geelong College, Deputy Principal at Mentone Grammar and more recently as Associate Principal at Westbourne have provided the depth and breadth of experience to lead Westbourne Grammar School into its next phase.

With more than two decades of professional experience in the oil, gas, petrochemical and mining sectors, Ilija is now Regional Turnaround Excellence Lead in Shell’s Global Production Excellence Team. An outstanding athlete who played for the AFL, Ilija is passionate about education, the outdoors and all sports. He also enjoys spending time away on adventures with his family and friends.

Dr Mark Krawczyszyn is a Cardiologist working in private practice at Heartwest and by public hospital appointment at Western Health. He is also an honorary senior lecturer at Notre Dame University. A current parent, he has served as a Board member since 2009.

An executive financial planner with more than twenty years experience in the industry, Ian describes his role as one which is focussed on ‘assisting people achieve their lifestyle and retirement goals.’ As a Board member, he utilises these same skills to ensure the school continues to provide students with the best possible educational opportunities in the best possible environment.

A student in the first intake at Truganina, David was School Captain and Captain of Hudson House in 1984. A member of the Board since 2004 and president for three years (2012-15), he is a qualified physiotherapist and currently a director of the Melton Physiotherapy Clinic. A keen cyclist and golfer, David’s two children also attended Westbourne.

As a past student, past parent, successful business person and former Board Chair, Diane’s association with the school began in the early 1970s when she joined what was then the Williamstown Grammar School Council. She was soon actively involved in the campaign to secure a substantial parcel of land and build a new school in Melbourne’s west. Since then Diane has worked tirelessly in support of Westbourne, contributing her time, business acumen and personal philanthropy.

Stuart is the Chief Executive Officer of Open Universities Australia, responsible for finance, legal and regulatory, strategy, business planning, info tech and people, performance and culture. Stuart’s leadership has seen Open Universities become the nation’s largest digital marketplace for accessing higher education. A qualified chartered accountant, Stuart’s career encompasses managing and growing technology and digital based businesses across multiple locations globally.

Kate is a results driven executive with extensive industry and consulting experience focusing on retail, mining, industrials and telco across procurement, supply chain, strategy and operations. Prior to joining AT Kearney, Kate worked in the oil and gas and mining sector with international corporations. A talented communicator and people leader, she has led multiple projects across Australian and New Zealand and is strongly committed to growing talent and achieving common goals. Kate’s sons Oscar and Sebastian are Westbourne students.

A highly experienced chief finance officer and industry leader, Simon is currently the chief executive officer and co-founder of Powerhouse Connect Talent Communities and Marketplace. With a wealth of experience at senior executive levels, including involvement as a consultant to a Fortune 500 global organisation, he is highly regarded as a thought leader with respect to innovation practices and driving efficiencies within the recruitment, human resources, re-engineering and info tech spaces. Simon is father to Westbourne students Kieran and Ryan.

Georgie is a financial services executive with more than twenty years’ experience in human resources. She has experience in business growth and transformation and developing high performing teams. Georgie is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion and for sponsoring environments where people and teams can thrive. As both a Board member and parent of Westbourne students Liam and Ally, she is committed to the continued growth of the school as enrolments continue to increase and the Masterplan is realised.

A member of the Class of 1992 and current parent, Jacqui’s Westbourne journey began in kindergarten and continued through to her Year 12. On leaving school, she completed a commerce degree majoring in marketing and has since worked in a range of professional roles while also finding time to actively support the school. Joining the key stakeholder group, the Friends of Westbourne Association when her son started in Prep, Jacqui’s passion for connecting and engaging the Westbourne community has been a defining feature of her leadership.

Commercially astute and forward thinking, Nicole brings a wealth of experience in both independent schools and the private sector. Strategically focused with an exemplary track record in the delivery of all aspects of corporate services, Nicole comes to Westbourne from Mentone Grammar where she was the Director of Business. Highly respected by her professional peers, she is currently a non-executive director of several not-for-profit community Boards, and is the immediate past president of the Association of School Business Administrators (Victorian chapter).

Rebecca is an HR specialist with significant industry experience having worked for Victoria Police, Swinburne University, Wesley Mission and Ambulance Victoria. Rebecca also has extensive governance experience being on the Boards of the Brien Holden Foundation and Sacred Heart Mission. Rebecca has directed all functions of HR in complex and large organizations and has been responsible for sizeable and diverse teams delivering key outcomes for employment, workplace relations, policies and innovation.

A dedicated and dynamic leader with extensive experience in a variety of educational settings, Jeremy has held positions of responsibility as Deputy Principal (Teaching and Learning), Head of Learning, Head of Middle School and Dean of Teaching and Learning. As Westbourne’s Director of Teaching and Learning, he brings in-depth understanding of both VCE and IB programs and is a passionate advocate for achieving excellent student outcomes through facilitating great teaching, Jeremy is secretary of the Vic/Tas branch of the Australian College of Educators and a member of the Institute of Company Directors.

Highly experienced in school leadership, learning innovation, teaching and pastoral care, Paul comes to Westbourne from the International School of London where he was the Secondary Principal. With a focus in fostering personalised learning and empowering students to be ‘good at thinking and to act with integrity’, Paul has been involved in both VCE and IB having been an examiner, workshop leader, theory of knowledge teacher, extended essay supervisor and teacher of chemistry and philosophy. Outside the classroom Paul has been an enthusiastic coach for football (girls and boys), volleyball, tennis, badminton and cross-country.

Innovative educator and experienced teacher-researcher, Emma is a strong advocate for the Reggio-Emilia philosophy of education, Project Zero’s Cultures of Thinking and the Maker Movement.Emma was previously at The Geelong College was she was Leader of Learning for Years 4-8. Prior to her appointment at The Geelong College, Emma was the Numeracy Curriculum Co-Ordinator PP-10 at Nyikina Mangala Community School (NMCS), Jarlmadangah. Whilst at MMCS, Emma was awarded the Kate Mullin Prize for Excellence in Language and Literacy Outcomes for her work in leading the implementation of the Walker Learning Approach.

An effective communicator, her focus is on collaboration with families and colleagues to support children’s learning and wellbeing.
