Libraries

Library

The Libraries at Westbourne Grammar are an integral component of the school environment. They exist to provide a range of traditional and digital resources, services and programs to support the curriculum and recreational needs of the whole school community. Our Libraries are committed to, and proactive in, developing lifelong learners and supporting an information literate community.

The School has three main libraries:

Senior School Library at the Westbourne Campus
Junior School Library at the Westbourne Campus
Junior School Library at the Williamstown Campus

There are a number of specialised faculty libraries that exist in the Senior School

Junior School Libraries

The Libraries at both campuses in the Junior School play a very important role in developing not only a love of reading in students, but also their research skills. Students are encouraged and expected to borrow books on a regular basis. At the Truganina Campus, the Library is open to students at lunchtimes and there are opportunities for students and parents to access this facility both before and after school.

A range of activities such as Book Fairs, the Book Club and Book Week celebrations help to reinforce this love of reading in the students. A particular highlight is the Book Character Parade which is held at both campuses on an annual basis.
A Library Council comprising students from a number of year levels assists in the day to day running of this facility.

Year 6 students have their Library classes in the Senior School Library as part of their transition into that part of the School.
