Meet the Members of our School Board
Mr Ilija Grgic
Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering), MBA (AGSM)
Mr Ilija Grgic has an extensive background in asset and project management within the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining and minerals industries. He has worked for Shell, Worley Parsons, KBR and other engineering companies in senior management positions. Mr Grgic joined the School Council in 2013 and has two children attending Westbourne Grammar's Truganina campus and is the newly-appointed Chairperson as at May 2015.
Dr Mark Krawczyszyn
MBBS, FRACP, DDU
Dr Mark Krawczyszyn is a Cardiologist in private practice at Heartwest, and by public hospital appointment at Western Health. He is also a senior lecturer (Honorary) at Notre Dame University. Dr Krawczyszyn has served on the School Council since 2009 and has three children attending Westbourne Grammar School..
Mrs Rocio Vucetich Karibian
BBusAdmin (Peru) Grad Dip Interpreting – Translating (Spanish-English), RMIT
Mrs Rocio Vucetich Karibian is the International Relations Manager at the Faculty of Business and Economics, The University of Melbourne, where she is responsible for the development of the Faculty’s academic partnerships abroad as well as international student recruitment. Mrs Vucetich Karibian joined the School Council in 2012 and has two children currently attending Westbourne Grammar.
Mr David Stewart
Mr David Stewart is a past student of Westbourne Grammar School and, in his final year, 1984, he was School Vice-Captain and House Captain of Molland. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has worked in various capacities for companies in Australia, England and Russia (for 17 years!). Mr Stewart joined the School Council in 2011 and his daughter currently attends Westbourne Grammar.
Ms Meg Hansen
A New Zealander by birth, Meg has a Master of Arts Degree in Literature from the University of Otago, a Secondary Teachers' College Diploma from Auckland and a Diploma of Teaching (NZ). Meg joined the staff of Westbourne in 1987, teaching English and Literature and Monash University Extension Literature. She was Year 12 Coordinator between 1989-1994 and Vice Principal 1994-2000.
Meg returned to the Westbourne Community after 10 years as Principal of Lauriston Girls’ School, and was appointed to the position of Principal at Westbourne Grammar School in July, 2010.
A former member of Victoria University's Council, Meg is now a Director of the Invergowrie Foundation, a Member of the Foundation's Grants Committee and current chair of the Victorian Ecumenical System of Schools (VESS) for 2015/16.
Meg joined the School Board in June 2015.
Ms Claire Brown
Ms Claire Brown is currently the Associate Director for the Victoria Institute for Education, Diversity and Lifelong Learning. For the last 15 years, she has been working in senior management and high level executive advisory roles in government and education settings. Ms Brown is also the Chief Investigator on the federally funded AVID Australia implementation and research project.
Mr Ian Fox
DipFS (Financial Planning), Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), BBus (Accounting), Master of Business (Accounting), GradDip (Taxation Law)
Mr Ian Fox is a Principal Advisor covering business advisory, accounting. He is an AFSL licenced Financial Planner and director of financial services firm Navacue Accountants and Financial Advisors. Mr Fox’s son is in Year 10 at Westbourne Grammar, and his daughter completed her VCE in 2013.
Mr David Horvath
B.Sc., B.App.Sc (Physio)
Mr David Horvath was a foundation member of the School in 1978, then House Captain of Hudson and School Captain in 1984. He joined the School Council 10 years ago and was the President of the School Council from 2012 until 2015. Mr Horvath is a director at both the Melton Physiotherapy Clinic and Wyndham Private Rehabilitation Hospital. His daughter graduated from Westbourne in 2011 and his son is a current student.
Mrs Diane John
Mrs Diane John is Secretary to the School Council and a past student, past parent and former Chair of School Council. She joined Williamstown Grammar School’s Council in 1973. Mrs John’s business interests lie in property development, both commercial and residential. All three of her children attended Westbourne Grammar School from Prep to Year 12.
Mr John McElvaney
MBA, Dip Bus, Cert Ed (Adult Ed) CD Dip, CPM, Cert Ed (Tertiary Ed) FAICD
Mr John McElvaney has spent most of the last 30 years working at director level in business consulting, education, international trade and industrial services. Mr McElvaney is a Founding Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is currently a business teacher at Deakin University. His three sons were all educated at Westbourne Grammar School.
Mrs Shona Taylor
Mrs Shona Taylor is currently President of the Friends of Westbourne Association which represents the Parent Auxiliary, Friends of Music and Performing Arts, Friends of Sport and the Swap Shop, incorporating both Junior and Senior Schools. Her role as President involves making formal decisions with other committee members on fundraising monies and activities to be undertaken. Mrs Taylor has two children currently attending Westbourne Grammar School.
