Music students at Westbourne avail themselves of many opportunities to perform with a variety of ensembles that rehearse before and after school, and during lunch times.
Many students sing in both auditioned and un-auditioned choirs, performing at school events, festivals and a variety of competitions and community events.
Students studying a band or orchestral instrument are encouraged to participate in an ensemble suitable to their level of expertise ranging from junior, intermediate, through to senior level. Percussion students work as a separate ensemble, as well as participating in both band and orchestra.
Chamber music groups are formed by students wishing to further their musical studies in this field, with trios and quartets rehearsing on a regular basis and performing at school and community events.
An annual music camp is held for senior ensembles to rehearse prior to the Annual Concert allowing musical ensembles the opportunity to work intensively on performance repertoire for future events.
