On Thursday 11 October many the School’s piano students from both the Junior and Senior School performed in soirees that were held after school in the Lecture Theatre, Chapel, Auditorium and the Music Open Area.  Each soiree was programmed to show a progression in standard, from beginners in the Junior School through to our more advanced Senior School pianists.  The repertoire presented was varied and kept the audience’s attention.  Each student enjoyed playing their piece and performed to a high standard.  The performers were students of Mr Beckitt, Mr Cook, Ms Dickson, Ms Hatton, Ms Hirche, Mrs Lund, Ms Mak, Mr Southwood and Mr Smith.

Our Year 12 students, Emily Jinu, Isabella Ren and Christopher Rothwell have contributed significantly to the Piano Department during their time at Westbourne.  They have performed in numerous Piano Soirees, Festivals and Competitions, always to a very high standard and have set an excellent example to all of the Piano Students in the department.  It was wonderful to hear most of them perform at their final Piano Soiree.  We wish them all the very best for their future.
