August is Book Month!
6 September 2018

Our Prep – Year 3 students were thrilled to have Tony Wilson visit them recently as part of their ‘Book Month’ celebrations. Tony had the students in hysterics as he shared his well known picture books, The Cow Tripped Over the Moon and Hickory Dickory Dash, which was selected by ALIA as the National Simultaneous Storytime book for 2018.  Students particularly enjoyed hearing about his experience in the AFL. Tony spoke about the process of structuring Picture and Fiction books from beginning to end. The students were engaged and thoroughly entertained.

Students in Years 4 and 5 were treated to an afternoon session of entertainment with one of our favourite authors and television writers R.A Spratt. Rachel is well known for her Friday Barnes and Nanny Piggins series of books. Her new book The Peski Kids, The Mystery of the Squashed Cockroach has just arrived in our Junior Resource Centre and is proving to be quite a popular read with students and staff alike. We are now eagerly awaiting Peski Kids 2, Bear in the Woods which is released in January of 2019. Rachel held the attention of our students whilst speaking about her writing passion and engaged them with her humour and musical talent.
