Final Five Weeks of Year 9 – Term 2
24 May 2018

Down at the Year 9 Centre, all students are gearing up for one of the busiest times of the year.  In the five remaining weeks in Term 2, each group will finalise their chosen Collaborative Project for this year; all students will revise for and sit Semester 1 exams; and, in the last week of term, all students will deliver a 30-minute Presentation of Learning.

All groups are currently working through the FPS (Future Problem Solvers) paperwork that provides the framework for their Qualifying Reports.  One group from each Mentor will be chosen to represent Westbourne in the FPS State Finals.

No matter what year level you are in, exams can be a stressful time for any student and Year 9 is no exception.  Consequently, the Wellbeing Program in Year 9 is currently focussed on both revision techniques and relaxation techniques.  This should ensure that all students are both well-prepared and relaxed for their exams.

In Week 11, all Year 9 students will deliver their second Presentation of Learning for the year.  As part of their 30-minute presentation, students will reflect on their learning as well as teaching a skill to their classmates.  The skill should be relatable to the wider Year 9 Program.  Following POL week, all students will be looking forward to a well-earned break.
