Schoolbox
23 August 2018

I am writing to let parents know that we are currently upgrading our intranet and school learning management system. The company supporting us in this important and detailed endeavour have supplied us with an overall software suite known currently as Schoolbox.

As part of the rollout we have successfully launched this platform initially to staff and more recently to students. The next phase of the process will be provisioning parent access. It is important that we complete enough of the background infrastructure to make this as seamless and as worthwhile as possible. We are therefore planning to make Schoolbox fully available to parents for the start of the 2019 academic year. However, if all steps continue as planned, we may be able to trial some parent access in the latter part of 2018. This will allow some dedicated testing and feedback.

Schoolbox is web-based and fully functional across all devices including smart phones, iPads, tablets and larger computers. We know our community find the limitations of the current portal in this regard a little frustrating. We also are working hard to make the navigation, and ease of quickly finding what you want, much improved under the new system. Further to this we are adding a lot of extra content for parents including greater access to the music and sports departments and generally the opportunity to be better informed and more fully up to date across all areas of the school.

Please feel free to discuss with your children how they are currently using Schoolbox. While this is most relevant for students from Years 3 to 12, we have also begun trialling with some of the younger students as well.

If you have any questions around this important advancement, please do not hesitate to contact me.
