Mathematical Olympiads for Primary Schools 2018
29 November 2018

Each year, thousands of schools participate in the Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO) from around Australia and New Zealand. This year, approximately 70 students from Years 4, 5 and 6 participated in the APSMO competition.

The APSMO program consisted of five separate contests held throughout Terms 2 and 3 and each Olympiad consisted of 5 questions. The students who participated in the Maths Olympiads attended weekly coaching sessions where they worked collaboratively to solve mathematical problems in a creative manner.

In Year 4, Fahiz Deen Mohamed achieved the highest score followed by Tashvi Kambo. The highest scores for the Year 5 students were achieved by both Allison Mai and Jessica Zhu followed by Hayden Huang, Patrick Li and Cynthia Nguyen.  In Year 6, Anuj Cheeyandira Yashavantha and Shaurya Prabhakar attained the highest results followed by Pranav Gopalan, Nikki Rupapara and Steven Wan.

I would like to congratulate all of the students who participated in the APSMO program this year for their commitment and persistence during our coaching sessions and for their hard work in preparation for the Olympiads.
