In August, some of Westbourne’s high achieving Year 11 Science students undertook the Australian Science Olympiad Examinations in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. These examinations are designed to challenge exceptional students and were attempted by over 6000 students across Australia. Our students performed extremely well across many categories.
Cat-Uyen Phan (11H) finished in the top 10% of students in Australia in Biology and was awarded a High Distinction. Distinctions were achieved in Biology by Finn Hicks-Bullock (11F), Ingrid Freeman (11S) and Srushti Shah (11F). Distinctions in Chemistry were achieved by Cat-Uyen Phan (11H) and Finn Hicks-Bullock (11F), and in Physics by Ingrid Freeman (11S) and Sophie Du (11S).
Credits were awarded to Roham Jarah (11F) and Max Baltas (11P) in Physics, Emma West (11F), Max Baltas (11P) and Aditi Gupta (11M) in Biology and Ingrid Freeman (11S), Max Baltas (11P), Shams Albrefkany (11H), Alan Nguyen (11M), Jacqueline Cassetta (11S) and Bronwyn Pepper (11D) in Chemistry.
