On Thursday 26 July, the Newport Fire Brigade came to revisit the Williamstown Prep students. Fire Fighter Kate taught us about good and bad fires, what do to in case of an emergency and how to crawl down low and go to get out of a fire to a safe meeting place. The students thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the different uniforms and safety equipment that they use. The children especially loved sitting in the fire truck and playing with the torches, thermal imaging device and listening to the siren sound. To conclude the visit all the students had a turn to squirt the hose. It was a fabulous experience for the students and we would like to thank our local Fire Fighters for their time.
