For generations, our uniform has signified what it means to be a Westbourne student, connecting learners across year levels through a shared sense of identity and purpose. From our youngest students to our seniors, the uniform supports comfort, independence, and a readiness to learn each day.
Students in these year levels wear a play-based uniform. The active wear design enables younger children to move freely and in comfort in keeping with the learning styles at these year levels. It also enables younger students to dress themselves. Sports runners are to be worn with the play-based uniform. Well-structured quality runners with good foot support are recommended.
In Years 3 and 4, students wear a more structured, seasonal uniform that marks a gradual transition toward the Middle and Senior years.
While closely aligned with the Years 5 – 12 uniform, the Years 3 – 4 uniform includes a few key variations tailored to this stage of learning.
These include the option of a winter tunic, the choice to wear a skort, and a simplified Winter Uniform that does not yet include a tie. The
Winter Uniform also serves as the Formal Uniform for designated school events and includes a blazer and long-sleeve shirt.
This uniform stage helps students develop confidence and independence, while gently introducing the expectations and presentation standards of the Senior years.
Students are required to wear the seasonal uniform when they attend school or any school-related function. This includes travelling to and from school or the function, sporting fixtures and sports training.
The school’s Formal Uniform for special school functions is the Winter Uniform. The Formal Uniform is to be worn when nominated by the Principal or relevant Head of School.
Our handbook outlines uniform expectations for each year level, with useful information about dress standards, personal appearance and when sports uniform can be worn.
