Appointment of New Principal 2022

Mr Ilija Grgic, Chair of the School Board is delighted to announce on behalf of the Board that Mr Adrian Camm has been appointed as the new Principal, succeeding Ms Meg Hansen from the start of the 2022 school year.
“Adrian’s appointment concludes an extensive national search. The Board considered an exceptional field of candidates to select an educational leader of outstanding capabilities who can continue our philosophy of creating a safe and supportive environment in which every child can succeed.” said Mr Grgic.
Adrian currently holds the position of Associate Principal at Westbourne and plays a key role in leading the strategic and operational elements of our school. Prior to joining Westbourne Adrian was the Deputy Principal at Mentone Grammar and before that the Director of Teaching and Learning at The Geelong College.
Throughout his career Adrian has developed wonderful relationships with students, staff and the broader communities within which he has worked. Adrian is driven to bring innovation to education and holds a strong commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people today. His career experience is strongly supported by his current PhD studies, Master of Leadership, and involvement in several educational review panels and groups.

I would particularly like to thank Ms Meg Hansen for her leadership, vision, mentoring and guidance since I commenced at Westbourne. I look forward immensely to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead and can’t wait to work alongside our students, staff, parents, and Alumni, to further advance our fine school.” Adrian Camm
Meg Hansen has led and represented the school with great distinction as Principal and in her earlier roles with Westbourne. Since becoming Principal in 2010 Meg has led the school on a remarkable journey of educational growth and transformational change. Her forward-thinking initiatives have seen Westbourne become the leading learning community in Melbourne’s fast growing west. At the same time, her energy, insights, integrity and commitment to education and the school’s values and vision have seen the realisation of a host of major initiatives.

It has been a privilege to lead this school as Principal and to reflect on the generations of students and families who have put their trust in us to educate them. I wish Adrian every success as he continues to lead the school in its mission – shaping learners who inspire the world.” Meg Hansen
Adrian is very much looking forward to continuing to support Meg over the remainder of the year and building on her legacy when he commences in the role of Principal in January 2022. The school warmly welcomes Adrian Camm to the role of Principal and looks forward to his ongoing contribution to the Westbourne community.
